Scalp breakouts are one of the common scalp problems and it forms acne on the scalp. Sometimes it causes some side effects like scalp irritation. Scalp breakouts can be cured with certain home remedies if it is mild and can be cured with medication in severe cases.

The first thing is you need to keep your hair clean all the time. Use shampoo regularly with a chemical free shampoo and wash off thoroughly by applying a good conditioner.
Do not comb your hair harshly. Also be careful while using hot rollers, barrettes, bobby pins, because if these are poke to your scalp then cause cuts or abrasions. Also never use chemical rich hair products on your head as it creates allergies.
Never share your personal belongings like towels, cap, and comb with others. There is chances of transmit germs from one person to other.
If you have scalp breakouts then do not wear hats, stocking caps, headbands, and swim caps as these are creating friction to scalp and leads to other scalp problem.
When you find out scalp breakouts with red bumps then you need to carefully handle the situation. Do not scrub the bumps and do not brush your scalp gently with a wide tooth comb.
Use a warm compress on the affected area daily for several times.
Apply anti-itch cream like oatmeal lotion or over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream over the affected area to reduce scalp breakouts.
Go for a topical antibiotic cream to reduce pain and irritation.
If your scalp breakouts do not go away within 7 to 10 days by using the above remedies then immediately visit to a dermatologist. The doctor can help to get rid from scalp breakout by prescribing an oral or topical antibiotic medication.
